Julie Taylor
Julie Taylor
Position: Volunteer
Supervisors: Dr Alan Millar

Project details Julie has been a volunteer for millions of years. No seriously, Julie started at the Sydney Botanic Gardens as a volunteer in the early 1990s and took a shining to the colourful herbarium specimens of macroalgae. Julie has worked on the re-mounting and curation of the collections one day a week, and spent many hours remounting some 1000 specimens of William Harvey's Australian exsiccate on permanent loan from the Mitchell and State Libraries of NSW. Julie's efforts have been honoured in the newly described species Ceramium julieae, a picture of which appears on the front page of Aussie Algae.
